International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) releases stainless steel consumption

According to the stainless steel consumption data released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) at the Mexico Autumn Conference a few days ago, global stainless steel consumption is expected to increase by 2.4% in 2019 and 4.4% in 2020. In 2018, global stainless steel consumption increased by +4.8% year-on-year. Among them, stainless steel consumption in Europe/Africa decreased by 5.7% year-on-year in 2019 and increased by 0.4% year-on-year in 2020; stainless steel consumption in the Americas decreased by 7.6% year-on-year in 2019 and increased by 1.6% year-on-year in 2020; stainless steel consumption in Asia (excluding China) in 2019 Volume decreased by 0.7% year-on-year, and increased by 2.0% year-on-year in 2020. ISSF's forecast for China's stainless steel consumption is a year-on-year growth of 8.6% in 2019, a year-on-year growth of 7.2% in 2020, and a year-on-year growth of 6.9% in 2018.
